Key Findings
Role:
The Scottish Wildlife Trust – Aberdeen & Aberdeenshire Local Group is a regional branch of the Scottish Wildlife Trust (SWT), Scotland’s leading independent wildlife conservation charity. The group’s role is to champion wildlife and wild places across the Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire region by connecting people with nature, raising awareness of local biodiversity, and supporting conservation action at the community level.
Responsibilities:
The local group organises educational talks, guided nature walks, volunteer activities, and community outreach events throughout the year. It acts as a hub for members and volunteers who want to learn about and help protect wildlife in the region. The group also contributes to local conservation planning by collaborating with land managers, local authorities, and other environmental organisations. Through its activities, it promotes public understanding of key conservation issues and encourages active participation in protecting local habitats and species.
