Role:
Moray Ocean Community is a volunteer led, community driven organisation based along the Moray Firth coastline in northern Scotland. It brings people together through activities that connect the local community with the marine environment, emphasising hands-on participation, citizen science, and coastal awareness. The group seeks to foster a deeper appreciation for the Moray Firth’s rich coastal habitats and species, helping residents and visitors alike to explore, understand and care for their local seas.
Responsibilities:
The organisation is responsible for coordinating and delivering citizen science programmes, community engagement initiatives, and educational activities focused on marine conservation. This includes organising surveys and interactive events that encourage community involvement in understanding and protecting coastal ecosystems. Moray Ocean Community also collaborates with local partners, shares data to support wider conservation work, and seeks to empower volunteers to take an active role in stewardship of the Moray Firth.
