East Grampian Coastal Partnership (EGCP)
Key Findings
Role:
The East Grampian Coastal Partnership is a not-for-profit company established to support sustainable coastal and marine management for the East Grampian coastline. EGCP brings together individuals, community organisations, local authorities, industry, NGOs, and other stakeholders to act collaboratively on coastal issues, share knowledge and advocate for the region’s long-term environmental well-being.
Responsibilities:
EGCP facilitates integrated coastal zone management by coordinating multi-stakeholder engagement, promoting best practice in environmental stewardship, and supporting education, awareness, and data-led decision-making. The partnership works to protect natural and cultural coastal heritage, supports community involvement and volunteer action, and contributes to planning processes such as marine spatial planning for sustainable development. It also provides training, outreach, and information resources that help increase public understanding of coastal and marine issues.
